Can I get the £2,500 grant for air conditioning in Hertfordshire or North London?

Sometimes — and we'll tell you straight. The £2,500 comes from the government's Boiler Upgrade Scheme and applies to air-to-air heat pumps (which is what modern air conditioning is) when the installation is MCS-certified and your home qualifies. It does not apply to cooling-only installations. Book a free survey and we'll confirm your eligibility before you spend anything.

What qualifies

What doesn't

If someone offers you “the grant” on a cooling-only unit, walk away — that's mis-selling, and it's your name on the paperwork.

How the money works

The grant is claimed through the installation — you see it as £2,500 off your quoted price, not a cheque you chase afterwards. We handle the paperwork; you see the deduction in writing on the quote before you commit.

The grant, plainly

Is air conditioning really a heat pump?

Yes — an air-to-air heat pump moves heat rather than generating it. In summer it moves heat out of your room (cooling); in winter it moves heat in (efficient heating). One system, both seasons.

Does the grant apply to cooling-only air conditioning?

No. The Boiler Upgrade Scheme supports heat pumps as heating systems. A cooling-only installation doesn't qualify, and anyone advertising otherwise is mis-selling.

What is MCS certification and why does it matter?

MCS is the quality scheme grant-funded installations must be certified under. No MCS certification, no grant — it's that simple. We confirm the certification route on your quote.

How do I find out if my home qualifies?

Book a free survey. We check the property, the system fit and the scheme rules, and tell you plainly: eligible or not, and what the price is either way — before you commit to anything.
